OUR BRIEF

Our client had recently taken additional office space in a building they already occupied in order to accommodate their growth. This resulted in a requirement to refit the existing space to their standards as well as an opportunity to reconfigure the newly enlarged space to better suit their needs. They called on GWD Contractors, thanks to a recommendation, to help them bring their vision to life and we were excited by the challenge!

OUR WORK

Combining two adjacent commercial spaces might sound straightforward, however, careful planning is of paramount importance to ensure that the works deliver results that are not only fit for purpose but that will stand the test of time. In this instance, we put great emphasis on surveying the space and understanding our clients’ needs before putting forward a proposal for their office refurbishment. Having worked collaboratively with our client, we narrowed down various options to a specification that not only catered to the client’s needs, but also presented them with the minimum possible disruption to the day-to-day operation of their business.
The newly acquired office space were in a shell state, without so much as a source of heating or electricity. Rather than put them off, the scale of the challenge was enough to spur on our team to deliver results. We collaborated with our client to deliver a varied programme including:
  • A new radiator layout linked to newly serviced and commissioned boiler
  • Installation of a new kitchen and new services including quartz surfaces and hot/cold/carbonated tap
  • Removal of former skirting trunking and installation of new data electrical cabling
  • New suspended ceilings, decoration and flooring throughout

THE RESULT

Our client was thrilled with the result of the refurbishment which delivered on all of their requirements. As always, we encountered unexpected obstacles along the way and the strength of the relationship with our client meant that these were easily overcome. We are firm believers that openness and transparency are fundamental features of good working relationships and on this occasion that approach proved invaluable in overcoming difficulties that arose during the course of our works. We are proud of the end result and are already working diligently to help this particular client with their next commercial property maintenance project!
